  • Guided Bison Hike

    Prairie State Park. 10am. Join us as we take a guided hike to see our resident herd of bison in the largest public prairie in Missouri. Bring binoculars, sunscreen, your camera, and be prepared for a two mile hike over uneven terrain. Call 417-843-6711 for more information.

  • Missouri Prairie Foundation Bioblitz

    Saturday and Sunday June 4 / 5, 2016. MPF’s 7th Annual Prairie BioBlitz. Linden’s Prairie, Lawrence Co. Celebrate the first National Prairie Day by participating in this weekend of nature investigation with great leaders, mega-potluck, game cookout, and camping on the prairie.   • National Prairie Day Hike and Prairie Plant Giveaway

    Celebrate National Prairie Day with a visit to Powell Gardens, Kansas City’s botanical garden! There will be a prairie plant giveaway (arrive early as quantities are limited) and at 10:30 a.m. Horticulture Director Alan Branhagen will lead a tour of the Gardens’ prairie plantings. The tour, which is included with Garden admission, will focus on plantings near the Island Garden and in the Perennial Garden. The hike will end at about noon. Registration is required for the hike.
